1-Sam mentioned getting dinner with the boys on my last day, but l'm
having dinner with my fiancé s Dad that night. That being said, do you
mind if I expense beers with Sam and John on Thursday?
2- The SkyTab presentation is scheduled for 11:45am-1:30pm on

Lighthouse has always preyed on First Data ISO and "Partner" relationships.
With CardConnect now under the First Data umbrella, it will be interesting to
see how those relationships will be affected.

My guess is that there are many of FD's "partners"
that are uneasy with having to deal with them
directly. No one want to be forced to use FD
products...especially cloverview :-).

POSTED:01-03-2019 09:27 am
I think the main point is that Shift4 is
a company that many ISO's and VAR's
rely on for a lot of things that they would
find hard to replace. FD isn't just in a
position that poses a threat to that model
because they're a massive processor. It's
that they also have a competing product
that many ISO and VARs find inferior. This
is a dangerous precedent for any company
partnering with another company that
offers even a partially competing product. @

@Anonymous that is very true. It is
never good to be in partnership with
someone with competing products who
also owns all the rails

My guess-man is that there are First Data's
"partners" that are not comfortable
by working with them directly.
Nobody forces the use of first data
products...especially not the cloverview :-).

In my opinion, the crucial point is that Shift4
offers companies and VAR's
a solution to get pretty much everything,
and they find it hard to get all the
from only one company. The First data possess a threat to that model
they're a giant processor. Additionally,
they also sell a similar product
that most ISO and VARs mark as average. This
situation is dangerous, especially when a company
has partnership with another one, which produces
slightly competing product.

@Anonymous you touched the point.
Partnership with the competing
companies is not good, especially when
they are the top dogs.

And how will this affect the VAR community, especially those
that utilized CardConnect and Datacap for EMV solutions?
AUTHOR: Anonymous

@Anonymous,
If the VARs are using Shift4 for the gateway, they're just sitting on top of
CardConnect.

POSTED: 03-29-2019 10:08 AM
@Anonymous,
Many VAR's use CardConnect's gateway, along with Datacap's
software, to process EMV. I would imagine that Fiserv/First Data
will probably terminate that relationship, or find a way to make those
relationships more difficult, due to the competitive nature.

We have no intention to disrupt any of those relationships. We are
payment agnostic and continue to support all processors.
